World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is here!
Posted on:
Each year 18th – 24th November, the WHO raises awareness about one of the biggest global health challenges we face: antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Why it matters:
When bacteria, viruses, and other microbes become resistant to medicines, common infections become harder — sometimes impossible — to treat. This affects everyone.
What we can do:
Use antibiotics only when prescribed by a healthcare professional
Never pressure doctors for antibiotics
Complete your full treatment course
Practice good hygiene to prevent infections
Vaccinate when recommended
Handle and prepare food safely
